Montmartre - The Pink House

The Pink House was one of the favorite subjects of the Butte Montmartre painters, especially Utrillo. It was the home of Tante Laure, who is said to have been the reason for Casagemas committing suicide, which left his friend Picasso distraught and triggered the artist's blue period..

Author of Angels of Paris - An Architectural Tour through the History of Paris

In September, the Palais Garnier, one of the most famous opera houses in the world, begins its new season with its latest performances. Poised at the base of a monumental sculpture to Instrumental Music, Jean-Baptiste Guillaume's little boy angel seems to scan the crowds.  The circular bird guard crowning his head appears as a metallic halo, but does nothing to deter his pigeon friends clustered about him.
