The Galerie Roussard (pink awning on right) lies just off Place du Tertre at number 7 rue du Mont Cenis.  One of the oldest art galeries in France, it features the works of artists who have lived and worked in Montmartre, including watercolors by Jean-Charles Decoudun.

L’Auberge du Roi Gradlon is located in the 13th arrondissement, an area to which tourists would have little reason to travel… except to dine on the delicious food that this restaurant serves. Follow this link and sign in to read our review:  http://www.parisinsights.com/restaurants.php.

Angel of the Month

Author of Angels of Paris - An Architectural Tour through the History of Paris

Believers hold that each of us is assigned a guardian angel at birth to watch over us and to guide us.  A depiction of one such angel, carved in stone by Theophile Bra, stands in the northwest corner niche of the Church of the Madeleine.  This angel is decidedly feminine, with immense wings that could close around her like the shutters of a triptych.  An expression of wary vigilance permeates her visage.  Guardian angels are honored with their own feast day, October 2nd, established by Pope Paul V in 1615.
