The year 2025 marks two important milestones for Josephine Baker—the 100th anniversary of her Paris début and the 50th anniversary of her death in a Paris hospital.
La Revue Nègre - the show that catapulted Josephine Baker to international stardom - opened at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées on October 2, 1925.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of this auspicious occasion, the theater organized three events—a dance performance by Germaine Acogny, an evening of song with mezzo-soprano Adèle Charvet, and a gala featuring music and dance.
Jean-Pierre Hadida, producer/director of Joséphine Baker, Le Musical, has created a new edition of the show to commemorate the 50 years that have passed since Baker's death on April 12, 1975.
