La Galerie Africaine is currently hosting its last Paris-based exhibition of the year at the Cloître des Billettes in the Marais.

Itinerant gallerist Aude Minart chose to name this show after the exhibition she mounted at the cloister in January 2026 - D'un ailleurs à l'autre (From One Elsewhere to Another). 

She simply calls the current exhibition D'un ailleurs à l'autre 2.

Those who know La Galerie Africaine will find several familiar names among the artists whose works are displayed. 

The "lost wax" bronze sculptors— Y. Touré, H. Yameogo, I. Guiré, Is. Gandema, and others—are well represented, as usual.

Minart frequently shows works by Camara Gueye, and three of his paintings are displayed at this show.

But Minart specifically intended to show lesser known artists in this exhibition as well.  An intricate work on paper by Benin's Julian Sinzogan stands majestically at the end of the right side of the cloister.

Along this same passage, one of Y. Touré's En-corps bronzes perfectly compliments a painting by a Swiss-Congolese (Kinshasa) artist named Aimée Mandjila.

On the left passage, Bill Kouelany's mixed media Vagabondages works and Kré MBaye's acrylics on canvas are vivid splashes of color against the centuries-old stone wall.

Many reverse glass paintings are on display on a table to the left of the entrance.

Of all the sculptures in the show, I was most intrigued by three small mixed media creations by Jean-Claude K-Bô.

One of them, entitled Boudoum, evokes a boxing match.

This and Camara Gueye's painting of Battling Siki on display in this show have me thinking about the history of Black boxers in France.
