For the next several weeks, when you walk into the foyer of Hôtel Jules et Jim in Paris' 3rd arrondissement, you'll be greeted by B&W photographs reminiscent of the work of great African photographers such as Malick Sidibé.

These photos were created by Marc Posso, a contemporary Gabonese artist who aims to "deconstruct the prejudices and stereotypes associated with African culture" with his work.

Four of his photos grace the walls of the hotel, and a fifth can be viewed by peering downward into the wine cave in the bar at the rear of the hotel's courtyard.

A second photographer's work completes this intimate exhibition.

Nana Yaw Oduro hails from Ghana.  He is described as being "the stage director of his own emotions during the performance of a photo shoot."

The exhibition is entitled Journey of Emotional Resonance.  It was curated by Marques Hardin of Artgence, a company that provides art broker and curation services.

The hotel has labeled the common spaces in which this art is displayed Galerie Jules et Jim.  On its Website, it indicates that it is partnering with Artgence to provide "a unique opportunity for art lovers to experience how art can be hung in their personal and professional spaces."

The idea is to have hotel guests "live with" the art so they can "take their time and decide whether to add pieces to their collection."

The gallery is accessible to the public from 9 AM to 10 PM daily.

Emerging and established artists who would like their work shown in the 15-meter space that extends from the hotel's entrance toward the courtyard and bar area can contact Artgence at info@artgence.co to explore this opportunity.
