Entrée to Black Paris has been so busy over the last year that we didn't realize we hadn't published a What's New announcement since August 2024!
In recent news:
This spring, our own Monique Y. Wells was interviewed by two production companies that are producing travel and culture videos about Paris. We will be sure to let you know when the footage is available for viewing.
We're pleased to report that our women-centric Black History in and around the Luxembourg Garden walk in Paris and our Josephine's Suburban Paradise walk in the Parisian suburb of Le Vésinet have been recommended by journalist Megan Clement in Missing Perspectives.
And most importantly, we are celebrating 15 years of the Entrée to Black Paris blog!
We published our first post on July 16, 2010.
Here are a couple of comments from appreciative readers, shared here with their permission:
Dear Entree to Black Paris Team,
Although I’ve only been living in France for a short time—and down in the south—discovering your blog has been such a meaningful experience.
Through your work, I’ve learned so much about the African diaspora in Paris and across France—stories I hadn’t known before. They’ve opened my eyes in ways that are sometimes sobering, but also deeply inspiring and joyful.
Thank you for preserving and sharing this history. I look forward to reading more and continuing to learn.
Warm regards,
Andra Daans
